California Proposition 65 Warning
What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that the State of California has determined can cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The list includes more than 900 chemicals and is updated annually.
Why do FenceScreen products carry this warning?
Many everyday products, including vinyl, coated fabrics, and other plastic materials used in outdoor screening products, may contain trace amounts of listed chemicals. A Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe or violates any product-safety standard; it means the product may expose users to one or more listed chemicals above the very conservative levels that trigger the warning requirement.
